Professional Galaxy is looking for: Senior Software Developer (Python, Docker & AI)

Description

We are looking for a senior software developer with deep technical expertise in Python and Docker, who thrives in a leading technical role and has experience working with AI-driven solutions.

In this role, you will play a key role in the design, development, and further development of scalable and robust systems, as well as serve as a technical leader in teams and projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend solutions in Python

• Build, operate, and optimize containerized applications with Docker (preferably also Kubernetes)

• Take technical ownership of architecture, code quality, and technical decisions

• Act as technical lead in projects – guide the team, conduct code reviews, and support complex technical decisions

• Work closely with product owners, designers, and other developers to translate business needs into technical solutions

• Participate in and drive AI-related projects, for example in:

• Machine learning

• NLP

• Data-driven applications

• Ensure best practices in testing, CI/CD, security, and documentation

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a software developer with clear seniority

• Very good knowledge of Python and its ecosystem (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Flask)

• Strong experience with Docker and container-based development

• Documented experience working as a technical lead or in a leading technical role

• Experience with AI-related projects, for example:

• Machine learning pipelines

• Integration of AI services or models

• Data analysis and/or model training

• Good understanding of system architecture, scalability, and performance

• Experience working in agile teams and closely collaborating with other roles

Preferred

• Experience with Kubernetes and/or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

• Experience with MLOps and deploying AI models in production

• Experience in mentorship or technical coaching

• Consulting experience or familiarity with client-facing work
